TRITONS APPOINT NEW HEAD COACH

The Tritons Baseball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Herman Stebbe as the 16U Head Coach for 2009 season.

Growing up and playing baseball in Burnaby, Herman started his coaching career in Coquitlam before moving to Surrey and coaching in Whalley, where he spent 9 years. There many of his teams went on to win 6 Provincial titles and a Canadian Championship. In 2007 he served as an Asst. on the Fraser Valley Jr Chiefs under then Head Coach Dennis Springenatic .

The appointment of Herman Stebbe was a result of former Head Coach Mike Joy resigning his position to the fill the role of the club’s  GM. In addition to his off field duties, Mike will be added to the 18U staff as an assistant to Head Coach Brent Swanson where he will serve as the club’s hitting instructor.

At this time we are also pleased to announce that joining the Tritons coaching staff as an assistant will be Ray Bursey. A long time friend and associate of Herman’s, Ray too comes to us with a winning tradition having spent 9 years with Whalley Little League. There both Ray and Herman  have made  major contributions to the development of the players responsible for the many  Provincial Championships that organization has achieved. As a result of this hard work and dedication many of these same players are still active and making significant contributions to their respective clubs in the PBL.

Assitant Coaches Matt Walker and Darcy Sidhoo will also be returning for the fall and 2009 regular season.

Our organization is very pleased and indeed fortunate to have the leadership of Herman Stebbe and Ray Bursey as members of our staff. Their skills, knowledge and passion will only further contribute to the future success of the Tritons program.

For those interested in our fall program please go here for more information.

Five memebers from the 2007 Jr. Tritons have been added the BC Scout Team attending the Fall Invitational Classic in Arizona this Fall.

Infielders Jake Bergsma, Milan Mantle and Thomas Stone will be joined by catcher Dayton Frost and OF Keenan Chanin. All were apart of 2010Team BC that competed in The Pacific Northwest Championships held in  Portand earlier this month. Milan Mantle was also selected to the tournament All Star Team.

Congratulations to all for this honour.
