TRITONS SHUT OUT ABBY TO WIN THEIR 20th

Tritons Remain 1/2 Game back of Langley

Jarod Bartnik’s 4th inning leadoff double provided the spark and Liam Dolphin’s 2 RBI Double provided the fire as the Tritons defeated the Cardinals 3-0 Wednesday night.

The Cards threatened in the top of the 4th when Brett Wilson and Jordan Dueck lead off with back to back singles and moved 2nd and 3rd on Bryan Arthur’s sacrifice bunt. Sebastian Wong followed with a single to left, but Bartnik threw Wilson out at home and Brooks flew out to end Abbotsfords only threat.

The Tritons got their opportunity in the bottom of the inning and they took advantage. Bartnik doubled down the firstbase line to open the innnig and Nick Senior drove him in with a single to right centre. Jake Bergsma followed with single, then Dolphin hit a 2 out 2 run double over the right fielder.

Tritons starter Blake Stewart kept the Cards at bay as he allowed only two more base runners in his 6 innings of work. Josh Stelting came on in the 7th and picked up the save.

The clubs meet again for a twin bill in Delair on Sunday.

TRITONS WIN A CLOSE ONE!

A pitchers duel was the featured Thursday night at the SSAP as Tritons’ Burke Seifrit and Adam Masse faced off on a great night for baseball.

Not much offense was offered by either club as Fraser Valley had only  three hits off of Seifrit. Tritons’ Thomas Stone was the only one to figure out Masse with a single and a double, scoring the only run on a ground out.  Chiefs threatened late but were unable to push a run across.

Seifrit gets his 3rd win on the year with a complete game as he strikes out  5 allowing 2 walks, Chiefs Adam Masse takes the loss striking out 7 walking only 1.

TRITONS OUTLAST ABBY

STEWART WINS HIS 5th ON THE SEASON

img_3379.jpg In a lack luster affair last night at Delair the White Rock Tritons squeaked out a 3-2 win against the Abbotsford Cardinals.

Abby jumped on starter Blake Stewart early to score 2 in the first on back to back doubles. Tritons answered back in the following inning to score three on just one hit,  that from the bat of Curtis Davis. Only one hit was registered by either team for the rest of the game as both pitchers took over,  Stewart with 6 strikeouts and Abby starter, Matt Browne with 4.

Abby did threaten in their half of the 7th only to have the tying run cut down at third on a bizarre ending to the game.

Next up for the Tritons is a home game at South Surrey Thursday against cross town rivals, Fraser Valley. Game time is 7:00pm
