Former Triton standout Chad Stang was selected in the 8th round of Major League Baseball Draft today.
Stang who won a PBL batting title in 2007, parlayed that outstanding year with a scholarship to Midland Community College in Midland Texas. Over the past two years at Midland, Stang has continued to develop as a real offensive threat with his bat and his speed, culminating with his LOI signing earlier this year to NCAA powerhouse Louisiana State University , where he was expected to start for the Tigers this fall.
We wish to congratulate Chad and his proud parents Greg and Kim along with the entire Stang family on this momentous occasion. Needless to say the future looks very bright for Chad, we wish him continued success with this new stage in his career.
The Tritons Baseball Club also wish to extend our congratulations to current Langley Blaze members Wes Darvill who was selected today in the 5th round by the Cubs and Mike Monster in the 25th by Cincinnati. Three other PBL grads were taken earlier including James Paxton from Delta who was a Supplementary pick of the Blue Jays.
