BERGSMA OUTSTANDING IN HIGH SCHOOL PRODUCTION
Performing to a standing room only audience White Rock Tritons Senior Inf, Jake (Jafar) Bergsma made his acting debut in the McNair HS production of Aladdin. With the help of both creative make up artists and costume designers Bergsma was transformed into the over bearing, manipulative and some time evil "Jafar" in this light heated musical set in the deserts of the far east.
Supported by a very talented cast Jafar, I mean, Jake danced and sang across the stage with grace befitting a young Fred Astaire in the attempt to gain the heart of the Sultans young daughter. Even with the help from the "genie" he could not help Jafar succeed in ruling the world nor dispatching the young Aladdin.
A wonderful night of entertainment was shared by all. Among the members of the audience were the coaching staff of the baseball club although forced to sit in the rear of the theater,( they were supposed to have front row seats) they some how managed to make their presence felt almost to the point of distraction with thunderous rounds of applause led by the President of the Jake Bergsma Fan Club, Ben Quinto, (pictured here below) who was mistaken for a current member of the McNair student body.
